This one-of-a-kind asynchronous training will help district-level translators improve their abilities to translate complex educational terminology. It provides an overview of the Royal Spanish Academy’s most essential spelling reforms, including proper capitalization of acronyms and school staff titles. The course comprises five self-paced modules covering structure differences (gerund, subjunctive mood) and comprehending the significance of register, style, and tone in translation. Participants will learn to identify the correct context of an English term when selecting the corresponding Spanish translation, avoiding using false cognates and Spanglish. The use of Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) will be presented, and participants will get access to a variety of resources.
